I have plugins in LR, not sure about PS. How can I tell if this is something I need to do? Just updated PS this morning!
Where can I find instructions to copy the plug in folder...
Select Program Files > Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5> Plug-Ins folder> open and copy everything. Next open Photoshop CC 2017> open Plug-Ins folder> paste the contents of the CC 2015.5 Plug-In folder into this folder. You should now be set.

??????
During the upgrade, the old version of the software is REMOVED, lock, stock, and barrel. So unless you know to move it prior to the upgrade, your PS CC 2015.5 plug-ins folder is GONE.

Interesting. I had to reinstall the Nik Plug-ins. The first time I tried to install them, it gave me the choice to install them for Lightroom CC/6. The second time, Photoshop CC/17 showed up, and they installed normally.
Yesterday, I thought Adobe "broke" my Nik Plug-ins. No, they just trashed the Plug-ins folder from the previous installation. (Whew!)
NOTE: I'm running an iMac with OS X version 10.10.5 Yosemite.
On my Window 10, the CC 2017 lost the NIK plugins but kept the Topaz. I ran the NIK install and they returned. Now I get to see if I can find anything in the "new" that I might use. It is time to visit my friend Julieanne Kost!

The upgrade to 2017 (I have the suite) Left all program Plugins, Presets and Brushes (depending on program Ex. PS CC 2015.5) behind. Opened the old folder and all was still there, the only thing missing was my Actions which I saved out to a folder prior to update.

mborn, does Photoshop 17 include Lightroom cc or is that a separate purchase ??

What is being discussed is an update to the PS CC program. LR CC is a separate program, but both are included in the subscription. Each is updated regularly, but not always at the same time. These days, this is the best way to get these editing programs, because for one monthly fee you get both plus unlimited updates! It used to be when a new version came out, you had to purchase it to get the updates...

When CC updated, my LR installation was intact, as expected, and PS kept my Presets and Brushes and other Preferences, but all my Nik Plug-ins were gone! And there was nothing leftover in a separate folder to drag back, not even from the trash.
