My vote goes to Joe Madden! I think he screwed up on switching Jon Lester out for Chapman. Cubs won in spite.

Re: DeanS's comment

Even harder for me to understand was taking out Hendricks for Lester.
He'd only thrown 60+ pitches, was pitching well and only a bad call on the walk kept him from the third out.

Cardinals? The Cardinals are from St. Louis, (not Chicago or Cleveland) they won the World Series in 2011.

The Cardinals and Cubs are rivals and there is little love between them because of Cardinals successes in past decades. Not this time.

It has been a really enjoyable Series so far and game #7 should be just as good. I'm rooting for Chicago. Somebody explain to me again, the Yankees rationale behind trading Andrew Miller.

They are using the Cub formula......they traded Miller AND Chapman for a slough load of young minor league talent.

I agree that he was too quick in pulling Hendricks, and then Lester. I am too old for this type of excitement.

Yeah, we live on the east coast and went to bed before the last half inning. I woke up with the dreaded thought that Cleveland had scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 10th and won. But they scored only 1 and Cubs won. This morning's paper (yes, there are still non-electronic means of communication) said that over 50 million people watched the last game, more than any for many years. When you come down to it this was a most interesting series. To me, baseball is the greatest sport because it has all kinds of things happening and experiences mythic dimensions. I note that you joined this sophisticated and highly intelligent group on my 81st birthday.
