Two days after shooting the fog/sun photo I finally captured three cormorants that had caught me unprepared three times before. Before printing, I replaced the single bird with the trio, and ran an 8 x 16 print. Looking at the print, with the flying birds in the original, low, position, the light bulb came on. "So that's what Dr. Dave was getting at". A minor shift in position, but a world of difference in the result. Another print coming - just helping to keep Epson ink in business.
Your opinions...?
For me a world of difference: fantastic, Neil! The minimal aspect, mood, color, softness, freedom of flight and ocean...really, really nice.

Nice thing about getting on in years, it don't matter.....built in excuse.
Quite an eye has our Dave.....

Ah...the trick to it, is getting the r.d. just large enough to be noticed, but not so large to be identified without zooming in. Thanks for having a look and comment.
Yep, there's a trick to it, I see three birds, that's suspicious enough to suspect tricks if it isn't 4 or 2 of them.
Problem is, tried for 10 min. to clean the monitor, need to erase it or scrub it with something, but still trying
to discover what's out there,.... but the fog just won't go away!
It just keeps getting better!! Love it!! TG
I really like it, a lovely minimalistic composition, but the odd color bothers me. I would prefer a more natural color palette, or a black and white.

Jenny, I don't know if it's the same 3 birds, but I missed three other chances on three birds at the same location. My guess is the parents and one chick of the year

That would explain a "normal bird family" wouldn't it, but it's still a trick getting them to fly for you
at the right time and place. "Rigged !" that's what it is, laf-laf-laf-laf-laf Probably needs to be investigated!

Thanks for having a look and comment Bushpilot.
The odd color is the root of the title. The new rising sun starting to burn its way through the fog. I made no color adjustment.
