What a terrific moment, Graham! Highly engaging, interesting and unique image.

Wonderful capture. You could use this to illustrate the principle of the "decisive moment". There may have been other interesting shots before and after but this was the money shot. Composition fell into place perfectly and your timing had to be equally perfect. Great conversion too.
I like very much how the leaves, tree, columns and wall frames the action area. Something unknown seems to be happening off to the left and I wonder what it might be. The boy with the hat doesn't seem to be looking at the chipmunk, so again, I wonder what else is going on. And Where did he get that gigantic hat from? Did the chipmunk make a run for it? Did the boy in the dark turn to watch the hat chase? What's in the bags by the sitting boy? That large piece of metal with the hooks... The scarf or whatever tied to the tree... the ancient door... Intriguing and fun work Graham.

There were other people to the left which I cropped of as contribute to the scene. In truth I don't think the boy was chasing the ground squirrel, there are no chipmunks in India
he had run off with his dads hat. The seated person is selling statuettes of Indian deities, it is a temple courtyard. The hooks are in fact a steelyard, a weighing balance. The scarf?... just a scarf
