Inside an old retired steam engine cab. I didn't need to make this look old or dirty it was just about how you see it.

Lots here to look at Jim-Pops well done. I would only suggest loosing or changing to grayish the frame, as I find it distracting from the image tones.
The origin of "grunge?"
This is a pretty cool shot! In download I enjoyed checking out all the details and textures.
Thanks Linda, liked "Origin of Grunge"

I like it but can't give you a convincing explanation as to why, other than that I find dirty old rusted stuff fascinating, and always chase it down to take pictures of it, and this is a nice well-taken symmetrical photo of the innards of this old engine. And I don't know very well how to make suggestions for this kind of thing either. The stuff is so full of texture and detail, but I never know how to compose it. Processing, however, can be great fun, especially with grunge techniques and textures.
I am wondering if we ought to do a share thread on dirty old rusted stuff. Maybe we could share ideas about how to find it, compose it, shoot it, process it? My photo drive has quite a collection but I seldom feel like I've done what I should with them. What do you think?

Let's open this up Minniev. Looking for more old rust and dirt.

Sometimes people don't follow a thread deep enough to find out that it's open, so if not many join in, let's consider a separate thread later. Here's one of many of this old wrecked tug taken a couple of weeks ago in Maine. I haven't processed it yet for extra grunge, just in LR for the basics, but I think it may have potential.

I agree with Minnie that this would make a great idea for a separate thread, so others don't miss.
In the meantime, I remembered this from my experiments with negative image per a couple of topics created by Jim Hill. This is a close-up section of what I believe was an old gasoline pump (it was next to other pumps at an outdoor agricultural equipment museum)
Thanks!
