I can't ever seem to resist this kind of bridge shot, but I usually get dinged for them. Please share opinions, crops, edits, suggestions as you see fit.
Maybe it's a little busy, but nature is like that. I think it's a gorgeous shot. I love the lines and colors and the "little people" are perfect. Download rocks.

I like this angle on a bridge image also the colors and detailsf minniev.

Thanks, I'm glad you found the positives outweighed the Busy! I see the "busy" and plead guilty as always. I try to cram everything in the composition. I make myself take simplified shots but I never like them much.
very nice shot of a beautiful place on a very nice day. Well done. I have no ideas to offer. Love those colors!
Thanks for the comments, Piet, the colors were wonderful in Ontario this fall, could not have had better leaves. I would have liked some better skies but we can't have everything!
Yep its the normal bridge shot min but just a damn site better than most could aspire too simply because of your processing skills. A n explanation of "busy" would be nice cos even with a different crop how does one simplify an abundance of Autumn color and all the intricacies and different shades of a wooden bridge. Its just what the eye would see and your restrained computer work has made it about perfect.

Fantastic image Getting dinged? for what? Maybe shooting from a lower angle, showing the beginning of the bridge and limiting some of the tree tops and sky would appease the dings. Frank
Minnie, in photographs, bridges are sort of "vertical". I think portrait format would do well with these subjects, unless being photographed from the side. That would minimize the "busy ness" of the scene. However, it's a wonderful photo, well exposed, sharp focus, and good depth of field. --Bob

So far not a single ding. I can't imagine dinging this. It is absolutely beautiful. It would be absolutely beautiful without the little family walking up the trail but they make the shot by adding the human element, a little family enjoying one of the last strolls of fall before winter. Mangles suggested Maaaaaaaybe a crop from the top. If I scroll it to just nip off the sky it retains all the brilliant color, plus moves the family off center, so maybe improving the composition. If I'd made it I think I'd do that, but I didn't make it! There is nothing wrong with it as it stands.

Thank you Billy. I feel like it's kinda trite but I can't seem to quit shooting these, I need a more original approach, and do try some experiments but haven't found one that ends up as balanced as this.
I have found when shooting foliage that I can't let my PP programs run wild, as they are wont to do.

I think because I use this composition too much (like every time I find an old bridge).
I wish I'd got some shots from lower, with the Little People. They got away from me too fast. If I'd had the presence of mind, I would have taken some lower and just moved the Little People, who look like they'd be easily portable.
