Read frustrations about the squirrels that steal bird feed. We had the same problem and solved it with the Squirrel Buster Feeder. Weight of the squirrel causes the outer portion of the feeder to lower and close the feeding windows at each perch site. The squirrels hate it! We and our feathered friends love it! This fall we have focused on finches with the finch feed mixtures. Great photo ops to capture the conversations and conflicts that define these little guys.
Very nice shots...what shutter speed did you use?

I have 2 of the Squirrel Buster Plus feeders, they do the job.

I bust squirrels with a BB pistol. Busted one to death a few weeks ago.
we use these feeders and baffles on the post, keeps the tree rats away.
Beautiful shots
I refer to squirrels as urban terrorists.

Thank you all for your comments. It seems we are all of the mind with regard to these guys. Cute as long as they are someone else's territory.

I was asked by ckkorb about the shutter speed used for the finch photos. Image 1=1/1250, Image 2=1/1600, Image 3 and 4 were at 1/1000. Camera was set on Aperture priority of f8 for all four shouts.

Very pretty...love the bokeh
My finches have totally turned their backs on the Finch Mix feeder this Fall, but drain a feeder full of safflower seeds in less than 2 days.
Great images. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful images, Raddad! I love the last two!

I feed them all. My birds and squirrels get along just fine. They eat side by side.
