Very well done!!! I like that you took the extra exposure time to allow the city to highlight as well....often times it seems light trails are in such a dark photo the background just blends into the darkness. I know this from my limited experience...next time I will go for a longer exposure as well.......Congrats on a really nice photo!!!!!

looks great, do you want to share your settings?

Really? its digital, experiment!!!! don't cost a thing. And unless all conditions are the same the O/P's settings will not work 100% for you.

My first attempt at light trails. This was a bridge overlooking an entrance and exit ramp to downtown Atlanta.

Fantastic image!!! you nailed it.
The traffic very seldom cooperates, either too much or not enough, or there when you don't want it. But it keeps things interesting.

For your first time you nailed it. I have done some light trails and did not do this well my first time.

Thanks for looking Kedan....Camera is a Canon 60D, lens 18-135, f5.6, ISO 100, 12 sec., 18mm. This was right at dusk and it worked out very well, I think. There was not a lot of traffic that evening so it was hard to get a good light trail.

I think less is more in this case. Don't think you would improve it with more traffic. Looks great just the way it is. Very creative and balanced.

Real nice shot! Hard to believe not much traffic even in the evening. The Atlanta I remember was always busy. Thanks

Thanks to all who looked at and replied to my photo. It was a fun night, a lot of experimenting and waiting for the right moment. I shot in RAW so it made post processing much easier. Will continue to experiment and improve!! Now, on to my next project....
