This one demands viewing the download to begin to appreciate the bird life on the water.
Your tender management of the richly atmospheric tones is admirable...perhaps as much for your restraint rather than for exuberant enthusiasm????
My major complaint is that this image did not come from my camera!

The only "if I could'a" I can offer is that if I could'a I'd have shot a burst or just a fast series to try to get that bird clearing the waterline to be seen righteously in the air.

...but in any event, be mighty proud!

Dave

Nice subtle fog image, Neil, fine composition, with Mr. Bird balancing the distant landmass. Well managed for color, tone, and atmospherics. You may have some gentle noise control to do if you want to print it, but it should work out fine. It's lovely and restful, one I'd be proud to have taken.

No problem on getting the cormorant higher in the air. The bird was taken same day and place, but 10 to 15 minutes later. They seem to either be very close to the water or quite high in the air. Could depend on if there is a landmass on their planned flight path.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your comments, as I wasn't sure others would appreciate it as much as I did.

Thank you, Minnie. I have the same reply to you as to Dave.

Thank you, Piet. Always good photo ops when the fog is in.

Certainly a step up and well above some of the quite awful fog fotas that have sullied these pages in the name of fota art. Natural looking and serene a nice capture.

Neil, the photographer definitely took advantage of this scene. Very nicely captured and the mood of the moment preserved.

Thank you Bob and Billie. In one reply to both of you, except for adjusting the exposure and adding the flying cormorant, this is pretty much OOC. I kept looking to see what I could do to improve it, and finally quit while I was ahead. The sun and fog had done it all
