Saw this question on a magazine quiz. Assuming a constant aperture: ISO 6400 @ 1 sec equals ISO 100 @ 1 min

The change in ISO is 6 stops which equates to 64 sec ; close enough to 1 min. Now you're going to tell me that isn't correct - okay why?

Close enough. When doing long exposures, you can do a quick check of your setup using this result. Take a picture for X seconds at ISO 6400. If you like the result, then take the long exposure photo for X minutes at ISO 100.

It says "constant aperture". Clean your glasses.

"Isn't correct" is the incorrect answer. SharpShooter is chasing naked girls and that is more importent to watch. CYA!

Why it is not correct? While most cameras don't have shutter speed of 1 min but if you set your camera at 30s it would do 32 sec. Why? because that's the speed it was set for at the factory. Do you know while 1/60 and 1/64 would both meet the spec for the 1/60 setting but when they adjust it they would aim for 1/64 and not 1/60. Because the shutter speed sequence isn't really 1,2,4,8,15,30,60,125,250,500,1000,2000,4000,8000 but rather 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,512,1024,2048,4096,8192.

I do not know why of this discussion that to me is totally useless. There is not a big difference between 60 sec. and 64 sec. in photography.
End of the story.

True

Just break it down:

ISO 100=1 min
ISO 200 = 30 sec
ISO 400 = 15 sec
ISO 800 = 8 sec
ISO 1600 = 4 sec
ISO 3200 = 2 sec
ISO 6400 = 1 sec

At last, 13 responses just to get an accurate answer! And to top it off the grammar makes sense.
