I have a Mac Book Pro. The current OS is 10.10.5 Yosemite. I keep getting these requests to upgrade to Sierra.Has anyone done so?? Was there any problems with the transfer of LR and PS and additional plug ins related to post processing of pictures?.....Thanks

I have a Macbook Pro and have upgraded. I didn't experience any problems with any of my software. If you have any doubts, you can call Apple Customer Support.

I am running a 5k iMac, upgraded to Sierra the first day it came out. Zero issues - however, I did update my Adobe software prior to upgrading to Sierra. Lightroom and Photoshop run fine under Sierra (I run the Adobe CC package for both).

I make use of many plugins - Almost all of the Topaz plugins, the Nik collection, JIXPIX Spektral & a couple from Macphun - I have had no problems with any of them.

Unable to print to certain Canon Prima printers. Canon is still working on updating their printer drivers.

I just got this email from a buddy of mine.... "need your help, my iMac just updated to MAC OS Sierra long story short I need iPhoto 9.6.1 which is no longer available, tried all the searches and lots of people are having same problem, pain in the ass these updates sometimes... one suggestion is get lightroom to manage all my photos, I know you like, didn't check out yet, your advice and what's it cost ? "

Not sure if this is reassuring or not....

Go to <roaringapps.com> for a checklist of MacOS-compatible apps. It is crowd-sourced so should be reasonably accurate and fairly current. No problems here with any of our apps using Sierra on iMac and MacBook.

Of course, iPhoto was discontinued by Apple and replaced with Photos several years back.

Hi Dave

I have a 5k imac and am interested whether there are any other useful improvements in Mac Sierra other than the siri functions which do not interest me. I would particularly like to see some stability improvements as mm ima,c running El Capitan at present, has gone into recovery at least 6 times over the last few weeks.

Siri is neat, but I am not interested in it either ;) I always stay current with my OS for the security and any other pluses, two right off the bat with Sierra seems to be a little more speed and takes up less space.

Other improvements listed in this article
