I belong to a local Camera Club of about 20 members. Each month we have a photo contest in which members submit a photo based on a monthly theme. The theme this coming month is: Anything round, circular, globular, etc. where the obvious subject of the photo is something around, circular, etc. Attached are 4 photos I took yesterday with next month's contest in mind. If you were choosing, which photo would you submit?
Buckeye Zoom
Hoop & Sticks Game, c1840s
Open Sign
A Long Zoom on Walnuts
I love the Hoop and Stick shot as it tells a story. Good luck it's a great shot. Let us know how you make out.
I'm also working on 3 shots for our camera club contest entry as well.
Thank you, Kathy. I'm inclined toward the hoop & sticks shot as well. And you're right. People and animal photos usualy generate more emotion. What subject matter is your photo club contest next month? Jerry
i personally like the hoop and stick one also, its very unique and makes you think
Yep, I concur, hoop & stick! BTW, they are all very nice!
hoop and stick-- hands down
*raises hand for "Hoop and stick" *

Jerry, I go with the majority and vote #2. I also like photo #1 with the contrasting background. Do you have Buckeye trees in CO? Good luck! Sharon

So, whaddya think, go with the Buck Eye?
I"m not in Colorado, if that's what you meant by "CO". I'm in south-central Illinois. Perhaps you meant Ohio "OH". Ohio doesn't have a lock on buckeyes. We have them here too. Thanks for your opinios one and all. I'll go with the hoop and sticks photos. Photo Club is the third Wednesday of each month. Thanks again for your interest.

Hoop & sticks - it will be unique - how many others were around (With a digital camera, no less) in 1840?
I totally love the first one for it's lovely color and perfect focus. (I'm a sharp focus freak). For the contest the hoop photo would be best because of the unusual subject matter. I, being a sharp focus freak, wonder if the woman could be a little clearer without sharpening the rest. I know she is in motion but as I may have mentioned I'm a sharp focus freak. It would probably be pretty difficult to do this. If you want me to try, just for an example, I would be willing to do so.
