Three exposures +2/-2. Processed in Photomatix Exposure Fusion Detail Enhance Utilizing a Painterly Preset with a few slide adjustments. Yes, I pushed the colors. I know some will not be in favor of that fact.

Very nice. Reflections in an image can sometimes appear unduly 'busy', but these work as a way of framing the subject.

I love reflections in relatively still water mirroring the image. I agree that there's a lot to look at in the image, but that's nature.

I agree about the business of the reflections and I may experiment with controlling them in some way. Perhaps making the reflective part of the scene weaker and slightly blurred, just a thought.

I had taken a number of regular photos of the scene and when I reviewed them on the camera screen I found that the highlights had been clipped, so I decided to do the scene in HDR to solve the problem.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I think it's beautiful, Gaylord! Natural looking color and I like the position of the bridge higher up in the frame, leaving most of the scene as reflections. The way the trees lean in from both sides and frame the bridge is very, very nice.

Reflections are always unnaturally busy in HDR photos unless you deghost. Since your mid exposure is on the light side, you could try using Photomatix's "Selective Deghosting" selecting the water and using the darkest frame as the base frame.

Selective deghosting as you suggested. However I don't care for the results.

I like the image and what you have done with it. I am a fan of pushing the colors somewhat and what you have done is modest. I probably would have pushed it a little more as I believe there is vine maple in the background. At this time of year it is quite bright. Also I like the reflections. I am curious though as your mid range image looks light--more like the lightest one I would have which would affect the color of the finished image.

Quite regular waves in the water, and yes, a bit distracting, but apparently that's how it was. In any case I would lighten up the central part of the reflection where the highlights of the sky seem somehow darker than in the other parts. For some reason it seems darker than in your original.

I did a check to see if I had posted the lighter one by mistake but I had not. The one posted was the Middle of the three. I agree it does look like it could be the lighter of three. Perhaps I should have chosen one stop steps instead of two.

I think it would be better to move the whole scale to a tad darker--the two steps should still be there.

This is the darkest of the three, and you believe the whole scale should be darker.

Good HDR. It eliminated the highlights especially on the edges and produce a good mirror like reflections. Nice...
