Hey fellow UHH'ers, I'm producing a Memoir of My Life that will include images at the end of the document. I wanted to print several images per page, and I was contemplating Photoshop Elements, but the word on the street is that Lightroom would be a better solution. I want something that is easy to use, with templates. But I also wanted to create high resolution prints from the TIFF images. Does anyone with experience with Lightroom have any feedback for me as to which might be easier to use as to my specific task? And would the older Lightroom 5 perform basically the same way as the newest Lightroom 6 regarding printing multiple images on a page?
Why not take the images to your local newspaper or print shop, show them how you want the layout and have them make the prints for you with much less hassle and far greater ease? No need to learn new software. Am sure they'll happily print the text portions of your memoir, too.
Yes, the Print module of Lightroom 5 will do exactly what it sounds like you want to do. The Print Module is simple, straight forward, flexible, and powerful. You will need to learn the basics of lightroom, but it really isn't that hard, and very rewarding.
I am attaching a little piece I did, just to learn the program, 6 images, text, all on one page.
Good luck!

LR is okay for that. It's probably easier than PS. But neither is a page layout app. Adobe In Design is.

The Lightroom suggestion certainly will accomplish what you need as demonstrated in another comment. But I wonder, it appears that you are not really looking to really get into whatever program you end up using, but are more focused on your book project. It may be that to get to the point of being able to use LR to make the print would require more of your time than you really want to invest.
In my opinion, getting to the same point as producing the page shown in the Lightroom comment would be faster using Photoshop Elements. They have templates you can use to do what you want. You can download a free trial that is good for 30 days to try it out, or even finish your project.
On the other hand, if you have hundreds of photos you want to deal with beyond those that you put into your book, Lightroom or Photoshop Elements can be used to help you manage them, edit those that need it, and ultimately print those that end up in your book. Again, I believe you will get to the printing faster and easier with Elements.
One final thought, perhaps a simple scrapebooking program, would be all you need. Elements is includes many Guided Edits and templates that are designed for digital scrapbookers.
The comment suggesting using a print service may be the best and most cost effective choice for you. It all depends how much you want to get into editing and presenting your photos. It's a journey.

The LR Book module may be what you're looking for. It has a lot of different layouts for placing prints on a page. They're all customizable too. Check that out.
I haven't used it in a while but if you go to the Page setup it has a drop down with options for how many pictures you want on a page. Then you can customize the heck out of it with layout, padding and background colors etc.
Lightroom uses Blurb.com to print the books.
If you want to do more than set layouts go directly to Blurb and use Booksmart. It has fixed layouts plus the ability to tweek them and/or make your own custom layouts: all very easy.
