Well, the same downpour as previously posted but another shot that I hope shows the rain better - what do you think?

Hmm, now it kind of looks like an applied texture. Again, bright green grass I wouldn't expect in low visibility. I'm also thinking that a shot of something closer might work better. I really like your trying these, MM; excellent food for thought on how to approach and how others perceive.

Not really, my best guess to make this work is a much slower shutter magnetoman...but as I say just a guess.

I have since toned-down the grass, just forgot it when sorting the bushes! Think it's always going to look like a texture though Linda, with rain that heavy it may be difficult to avoid.

Here's one Ive not done much with at all. but the rain has a bit of angle that might help?

That's a thought Frank - I'm sure I'll get an opportunity to try it, I'm in England after all!

Definitely looks wet. I still think you're going to have to get right out there and shoot towards a closer object, though

Your first image shows the dreariness of the rain, but not the rain itself, I think. The second image definitely shows the rain! Nicely done.

Yes, I can see the rain. I can also see how nice and even the light is. There is a lot to be said for shooting in inclement weather. Good detail in the trees. Like this simple composition.

Thank you APL, I think your assessment is about right. Good to have your thoughts.

Thanks Erich, it may need it bit more work but I do find that simple composition appealing - glad you like it too.
