Shutter Actuations on a Canon 7D follow through...

The Canon 7D requires a special software only available to their technicians to find out the number of shutter actuations. Response from Canon: "Canon repair technicians at our facility can get that number through software they have, while cleaning/repairing equipment. Otherwise, there isn't a way". That's the way the Cookie Crumbles. It is a great camera nonetheless, and it is a very, very, minor inconvenience. Do not let this bother you.
Happy shooting to you.

Go to the internet and type in Camera Shutter Count. When it opens follow directions. You will click on browse and up load the last or which ever picture you want to check, then it will let you know the shutter count. All free! I saved the web site so I can use it when I need to.

Thank you for your prompt reply and Good Evening...I have tried it with 7D pictures and it does not work. I receive an error message after downloading directly from the camera a RAW and Jpeg. That is why I wrote directly to Canon and posted their response. ShutterCount does not work with the 7D.

Here is a site that will give you the shutter count for the 7D. I know it works because I own a 7d and have used it. http://eoscount.com/

Thank you, it works like a charm. I assume Canon is not interested letting their customers know about this website.
After a year and 5 months of shooting I found out that I have shot this camera 25,842 times. Have a magnificent Evening.

Please don't reply unless you know what you're talking about. EOSinfo does NOT work on a 7D. The 7D doesn't put the shutter count in the EXIF data. It has to be read from the camera body directly.

I looked up the web site that birdpix told about: http://eoscount.com/ and according to FAQ it does support the 7D, You may want to try this web site, it will only take a minute and is free. I would go this way instead of sending to Canon and be without the camera for awhile. You don't have anything to lose and it might be a saver with only 1 minute lost time.

I'll try that later, thanks. I wasn't the one who needed to know (although it might have looked that way from the way the messages tracked), but I'll give it a shot.

Thanks bp! I just tried that and it does indeed work on 7D and my 50D.
Found out I had 53,071 clicks on one 7D body and 60,573 on the other.
50D came up with 26,676

30D though is apparently not supported.
