Maple in the Sky With Crow

This morning crows were flying over one at a time, I looked up while standing below our large maple and that colorful branch caught my eye with the wisps of cirrus clouds.
When I heard this crow calling and flying over I couldn't resist, I snapped this quick shot. I really like the results, just thought I would share and take the heat.

Its just OK Dennis. I think what for you seemed like a magic moment has not translated to a snap incredibly well but its of no consequence if it serves as a reminder of that time. Possibly not enough to engage or enchant the casual view. The tree however looks as if it could make a quite beautiful shot with those wonderfully colored leaves

I like it too. The elements are pretty sound: brilliant red leaves, blue sky, interesting cloud, bird with wings outspread. It seems to need something though - the contrast seems a bit too harsh, especially in the upper third of the image where all the good stuff is. Bird is a little far away, and there is a weight distribution issue, but I still see something interesting here... (hint: Freeman Patterson would have taken this shot or something very like it).
It's one I'd like to think on and experiment with if you'd allow it, either to post back or send to you via PM if I come up with anything.

The light on the leaves is gorgeous, the contrast between blue and red is beautiful, as are those clouds. I tried flipping both vertically and horizontally and I like the balance of the elements much better. In fact, I find the composition to be quite striking now

Thanks for the comments, all welcomed suggestions. There's something about this image that intrigues me, but I can't put my finger on it.

Leaves, blue sky, wispy clouds, outstretched wings - I'd say everything came together in one very pleasing shot.
