From the post My Image - Your Look: Let's Experiment With Editing let's see what you can do with an image from the Valley Of Fire.

To make it easy I've attached the Canon RAW file and a SOOC JPG, and TIFF to Dropbox
- https://www.dropbox.com/sh/47uype11k1usbik/AAALvzn4Bpeks1-9AYPnNy5ga?dl=0

You have until noon, Friday PT to post them here then we'll turn it in for a vote. Enjoy! S-

Working with a well exposed file always makes me want to bring out what is there rather than being 'creative". BUT! the image screamed to be a pano. Simple cropping would have pretty much lost that wonderful sky. To get around that I selected and cut the sky from the image, re-proportioned (flattened) it and then used the transform tool in PS to make it fit properly.

Luckily I knew what I was getting into so I brought the wide-angle, but if I would have thought I could have turned it and made a beautiful piano. And I love that you kept the sky!

Thank you and good luck! S-

It was one of those moments though where you barely remember to breathe let alone that you brought your camera and it really was The Golden Hour.

Thank you and good luck! S-

I could not bring myself to get very "creative" with this image because it is so beautiful it seems almost a sacrilege to do much to it. So I restrained myself from going very far, just did some balancing of tones, worked those beautiful clouds a bit, added some detail to the cliffs and called it day. Sometimes you just can't improve much on a well-captured image of Mother Nature at her best.

Thanks for giving us a real wonder to work on...

I knew there had to a use for that ol' hill and a bit of scrub land. Planning permission has been granted for a few condos on the hill a casino and a MacDonalds.
That will make the journey worthwhile huh.

Wild Bill Hickok shows are old hat and its politically incorrect for the injins always to lose. The condo punters wants Burger King Pizza Hut and bars with loud music. Couple of pools, tennis courts and skeet shooting range. Some Disney type rides for the kids and that boring ol' hill can really come to life. Maybe some concrete buffalo to make it look authentic. About time someone did something useful with it instead of just looking at it!!!!!
