I'm looking for a pocket or paper back guide to beginner photography that will fit in my camera case, if anyone knows of one, please post a link to it here. Many thanks in advance.
Just purchased it for my Kindle and tablet, Great book, Saw it here in previous postings and ordered it. Already using techniques I read on day one.

I went to check the book out and Amazon said I had ordered it 1-25-2012. LOL Guess will get the book and then look at it.
do the unthinkable, carry the camera manual with you, then it's always there.

Just to add.....
I'm very slowly, working on my own custom "Field Notes" guide.
The notebook is a pocket memo book sized 3x5 purchased from the local store.
Taped on the cover is generic check list for camera settings not in final order: ISO,Fstop,Shutter Metering Focus point,Wht bal.,DOF, Mode (M,P,TV,AV,etc),RAW w/AWB, whatever else that may be added. A list of things to consider.
Inside, I have notes for the "Sunny 16 Rule" and the other "Rules" that go with it.
My Rockbox Theatre "settings'
Night time moon settings.
There are many, many situations from "Understand Exposure, 3rd Edition" that can be reduced to reference notes for the pocket memo book.
It can be an " on going" project that you can add to.
Just something to consider....
Hope this helps!

Ziggykor,
I don't know what brand gear you're using, but have Canon and Sony. I have to tell you the manuals (especially Sony's) leave a LOT to be desired. Anymore it seems the clarity of the manual is inversely proportional to the design of the camera.
I bought the e-book versions of both the 5D MKII and the NEX-5N Field Guides. The NEX-7 is supposed to be released next month & I'll pick up that one as well. I have them on a Kindle Fire & make it part of my kit bag.
Some of these camera companies could learn a lesson or two from Brian McLernon.
PD
I'd like you to post it also!

I make up little six-sided cards for my cameras. I can include whatever I want, and I can change the info and reprint at any time. Some cards are singles, printed on two sides. I have a card for night shooting and one for timelapse. Laminating protects them from damage.
