Last week we bought a new camper and couldn't wait to take it on a maiden voyage. I found a nice campground in Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, less than an hour away, that I'd never heard of. These were all taken at sunrise from my kayak, with my pocket sized point and shoot. I don't dare bring the big camera in a kayak. All are as shot - just a little cropping. The body of water is called Little Dan Hole Pond.

Wow very nice. I would not have cropped the picture of the Loon in such a tight position. But, that's just me.

Nice P&S images, particularly the first and fourth.

Nice work on all of these; the one with the fog lifted is my favorite.

Thanks, jmatt. I was on the water for over an hour, and all by myself. It was very relaxing and I saw a variety of atmospheres.

Beautiful shots and reflections, love the fog....

Thank you, nanaval. Years ago, when I first got out there in a kayak, I was mesmerized by what that morning fog does for a scene.

Thanks, mocolh. I cropped the loon for composition and to show more detail on the bird. When shooting in this situation, the bird doesn't stop moving nor does the kayak. Bit you comment is food for thought. Here's the "as shot."

Thank you, Nosaj. As for the first, I wish somebody would come out with a CPL for point and shoots. I really don't like white skies.

Thank you, Frank. I always keep in mind the three C's - Camping, Cameras and Cayaks. (I took some license with the spelling.}

I agree with you about white skies; I get my share of them and don't want to throw time into a post-processing exercise. The composition is a good one and the colors and resolution are fine. I don't know if a CPL exists for P&S cameras, but if so, I would like to know where they are. Also, I'm familiar with that area of NH and can recommend a novel written in 1942 about that area, "Look To The Mountain," by an author using the name (no joke!) of LeGrand Cannon, Jr. The book has some good descriptions of the landscape of that area and tells a story of a young settler during the American Revolution.
