The osprey was about 125-150 feet away. I used 560mm.

Canon 5Dsr - Canon 100-400 II - Canon 1.4x III - 1/640 - f/13 - ISO @ 1000.

Always impressed with your bright, sharp images, and this one's no different. Like the background as well.

I've noticed you often use a focal length of 560mm rather than your lens's max of 600. Forgive me if you've already spoken about this, but are there limitations at 600, or does it just work out that way? Simply curious (it's on my wish list). You're certainly getting outstanding images, however you choose to go.

Canon 100-400mm lens = 400mm + Canon 1.4x III = 400mm x 1.4x = 560mm. So the max is 560mm with my full frame camera, not 600mm.
The Canon 5Dsr (50.6 MB) + Canon 100-400 II + Canon 1.4x III extender combo will give you extraordinary detail.
The Canon 100-400mm lens uses special quality glass with expensive lens coatings that are ordinarily found on the $8000 to $14,000 Canon prime lenses,
so this lens IQ and sharpness is better than the current 150-600mm zoom lenses, excepting the 500mm and 600mm prime lenses that are sharper according to
the lens critics.
Thank you, cabunit.

Thanks, my misunderstanding! And there's no arguing with the IQ. Great job as always.
