I can vouch for the Pentax mount Sigma 70-300mm Macro lens! Although the reviews don't rate it very high, it's one of the sharpest lenses I own! I love the 1:2 macro feature, with the 37" minimum focus distance. It's wonderful for us "seasoned citizens" with bad backs. This photo was shot at a distance of 37" using the 300mm setting. Can't ask much more from a lens that that!
