Where to get absolutely the best prints

I have just made it back from Pitcairn Island in the South Pacific. Home of the desendants of the Bount mutiny. I managed to get my hands on a Nikon D4 just before I left and came back with a little over 7000 shots of which 700+ are stunning. I would like to make large prints of a couple to hang on the wall. I am looking for the best lab and process for the photos. I have heard that there is a process with silver that makes the light shift as light in the room changes throughout the day. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks Tony

For the first time ever we used Adorama's print service. You can dodo online or if your local (NYC,NY) in person. Wehad ours mailed back to us.
They came here within a week and they were first class.

Same image, metallic foto paper 8.5 by 12 print and one 24" by 36" print same paper, well packed, first class mail $40.00 delivered and taxed.

Outstanding quality!

Thank you very much for your responce. What I am looking for is a finish, I think silver is used that makes the photo look different in different light and angles. Have you heard of such a thing?

CA has some really great photo labs. Why not call some or go online for services and pricing. Better yet try one print and see how they do?

As far as the silver effect? Nope never heard of that but inever heard of metallic prints before seeing one a few months ago either ? Print options abound, go for it if ya can find it!

Hello, There are labs that claim that there prints are different techniques and different results. The highest quality print that can be made is a silver based print on Fuji Crystal Archive Flex material. This material is printed using a Lightjet printer and this gives the absolutely highest quality print. Of course the quality of the print is determined by how conscientious the operators are. The best color lab is in Culver City California and it is John Weldon Lab operated by John Weldon. This lab does the highest quality Fuji Flex printing. They are not cheap as any quality item is but they do the best color print that is available. I believe that they can do prints up to 50 inches wide and they also offer mounting and finishing services. This is a quality place and they do the best work. You can check out there web site at Weldon Lab.com, all of there services are listed there.
