Couldn't decide which one to post, so here are both of them.

Its #1 for me, has a more natural and balanced feel to it.

I think they are both nice. I do think, however, that the second one has more impact. There is a lot going on in the first shot. I do like the child with his hand on the art. You can see the art work better in the second shot. Both good, I think.

I also like both photos, with the second one being the stronger because it is more focused on something specific. I also think you could have cropped the top of the first one just below the wires to avoid unnecessary clutter. But, as I said earlier, they are both nice street shots.

They're both very good but I prefer #1 although I'd have a hard time explaining why. I suspect there's a lot of color in these, did you consider doing them in color?

Thanks, jaymatt. Yes, there is much more focus on the subject with the second one. On the first one, what with the electric meters, window bars, A/C units, etc, I was trying to increase the clutter so as to make it really look "back alley." I guess it was meant to be more of a "scene," with the mural as the subject, but just an odd, organized part of the whole.

Thanks, jackm1943. I did #1 in color, but went directly to b&w on #2. Here's what it looked like.

I like them both, but prefer number 1 overall. Can't really say why. The Black and white version does more for me than the color one. 👍

Like both images Voss but I lean toward #2. Gives viewer something to focus on.
