Saturday afternoon shot. Fall color is in full swing and will last two more weeks.
Hard to get a good sense of the image without a download, but sure looks purty
I love every single thing about autumn!

let me make it a download ... forgot that step.

Huge difference in the brightness and clarity; thanks!
In upper left corner of sky I see a partial circle, not sure what is. Also to right of left-hand mountain where angles sharply downward is what looks similar to lens flare (smaller circle than the other), and then a sort of halo look (lighter line) that separates the rear left mountain from the darker one in front.
There is more softness in the details than I would expect. Works for me since I like soft and that suits the subject and the light, but am interested in your discussion of that if you're inclined.

A pleasant scene Mark with you waiting for the sun to just kiss the tree tops. Technically it’s lacking a bit. Linda has pointed out what I think might be dust spots not blended out well. Possibly the slight halo look came from trying to bring up the shadows not sure. I’ll also agree with Linda about it seeming soft although I differ and prefer sharp. Seems somewhat grainy even in the brighter areas.Good to see you back.
Where were you, in the Owens Valley.

I am the last person who would recommend cropping but in this case it would eliminate the portions of the image that make it weak.
The light on the trees is what caught your attention and that's all you need. The skyline is ordinary and the dark background is dull so I have cropped them out.
The lens does not seem to match the resolution of the sensor. It's a bit soft. The result is good if you don't enlarge too much.

Mark, your image draws me in. I do like Scotty's crop though, it provides that nice line of sunlight scraping the yellow leaves giving those beautiful trees all the attention that they rightfully deserve.
I think it is lovely scene-wonderful light. For me I like it better without the crop. I think the hills and the sky add a lot to the scene. A place I would like to be.😀

Looks great. Love the clouds peeking out over the mountain. Color is fantastic.

The image is well composed, and features a beautiful subject with a great backdrop. There's not much more beautiful than the Sierras in fall . The light is the "star" of the image.
I see what others are referring to as softness especially in the aspens, but I like effect, and there's plenty of definition by light and shadow. Is the softness maybe due to a long exposure or noise removal? I sometimes induce this kind of softness with processing so I wonder about that too.
IMHO the sky merits a rework to remove the halos and achieve a less muddy tone of blue to complement this beautiful image. Thanks for sharing!
