I Used To Think I Was Just a Normal Person

Subject: I used to think I was just a normal, regular person...

I used to think I was just a regular guy, but… I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a r****t.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a f*****t.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I am non-union, which makes me a t*****r to the working class and an ally of big business.

I am a Christian, which now labels me as an infidel.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the vast gun lobby.

I am older than 65 and retired, which makes me a useless old man.

I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.

I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I (and most of the folks I know), acquired a fair education without student loans (it’s called work) and no debt at graduation, which makes me some kind of an odd underachiever.

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens, which now makes me a militant.

Now, a sick old woman is calling me and my friends a basket of deplorables.

Please help me come to terms with the new me…because I‘m just not sure who I am anymore! I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes in my life and my thinking! I just can’t imagine or understand what’s happened to me so quickly!

Funny…it’s all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years! As if all this crap wasn’t enough to deal with… I’m now afraid to go into either restroom!

Damn, if most of those don't seem true.

Sounds like you have developed a persecution complex. Don't take yourself so seriously.

This from the mantra of liberal persecutors who consider any point of view contrary to theirs so insidiously and hypocritically serious...

That sums it up very well. In order to cope with this situation you have to adopt the old saying " F_ _ k them all but six " .

sarge69: Subject: I used to think I was just a normal, regular person...

I used to think I was just a regular guy, but… I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a r****t.

[This is paranoid exaggeration. No credible person says all w****s are r****t. Perhaps this is your way of ignoring the unbalanced table created by the white power structure.]

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a f*****t.

[No, the f*****m comes from feeding corporations, but not people.]

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

[Amazing; no one ever made me feel that being heterosexual made me a homophobe. No one even tried.]

I am non-union, which makes me a t*****r to the working class and an ally of big business.

[Non-union is a well hedged term. Do you mean anti-union? Yeah, that would make you an ally of Gilded Age-style bug business.]

I am a Christian, which now labels me as an infidel.

[Where did you dredge this one up? Christians are the ones who bully other religions here. They foist their Christian prayers on others at high school and college faculty meetings. Many of them attempt to subvert the Constitution by moving the US toward theocracy.]

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the vast gun lobby.

[In what lobby does it put you, AIPAC?]

I am older than 65 and retired, which makes me a useless old man.

[My age does not make me feel useless. You need help.]

I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.

[This is a non sequitur in at least three ways: 1. Independent thought does not necessarily lead rightward. 2. It is doubtful that your rightward orientation is the product of independent thinking. 3. Your lament implies that the media is a l*****t entity, which is amazing for an industry monopolized by no more than six far right corporations and individuals. Thus, your comment is less an honest observation, than an attempt to shame the media into being more right wing than it already is.]

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.

[If that includes Confederate iconography, or a new nativism, then yes, you are a xenophobe.]

I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.

[No one credible said that. If you defend the incredible number of police shootings of unarmed people, then yes, you are.]

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

[This is a confusing statement. Everything you wrote up to now would indicate that you would be offended if someone called you a socialist. Your confusion must be because you still espouse socialism for the rich.]

I (and most of the folks I know), acquired a fair education without student loans (it’s called work) and no debt at graduation, which makes me some kind of an odd underachiever.

[The cost of higher education in America has become crippling at the same time that the bottom 75% has lost a huge portion of its former per capita share of its of the GDP. Thus, your holier than thou call for people to raise themselves up by the bootstraps as you did rings rather hypocritical.]

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens, which now makes me a militant.
[Defense of the homeland? Do you mean the new nativism?

[The same one that created the illegal flow from Mexico via NAFTA, but now wants to crush what we caused?]

Now, a sick old woman is calling me and my friends a basket of deplorable.

[Stop sniveling. Grab a basketball and shoot it for three hours. There are all sorts of work you could do, too, if that is what you want and need.]

Please help me come to terms with the new me…because I‘m just not sure who I am anymore! I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes in my life and my thinking! I just can’t imagine or understand what’s happened to me so quickly!

[I agree; you sure do need help sorting out who you are.]

Funny…it’s all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years! As if all this crap wasn’t enough to deal with… I’m now afraid to go into either restroom!

[Another non sequitur, this one aimed at t*********red people. First, they might be what, a tenth of a percent of the population? That makes you afraid? Secondly, before the rise of s*x c****e operations and the rights of such people, the only thing that identified people's g****r when they went into a rest room was themselves. No one was given a visual inspection, or genetic testing. Nothing would have stopped a person convincingly dressed in d**g from entering the wrong rest room.]

Damn, if most of those don't seem true.

[For a paranoid person deeply emerged in victimology, yes, it does ring true. You think the white establishment has built a world unsafe and unfair for w****s.]

Kmgw9v: Sounds like you have developed a persecution complex. Don't take yourself so seriously.

RichieC: This from the mantra of liberal persecutors who consider any point of view contrary to theirs so insidiously and hypocritically serious...

Nagy: People like Richie think like this:

Richie: Muslims are a great danger to our way of life. We need to impose special rules against allowing them to immigrate or visit the US. The Confederate f**g is part of our heritage. We need to display it proudly on all government buildings. Stamp out all unions; corporate executives are the best guarantors of workers' interests. Minimum wage workers should "better themselves," like I did, by paying for college.

Mulsim Citizen: Equal treatment of everybody is only fair. We have no reason to discriminate against any particular group.

Black Person: The Confederate f**g represents the only state known in human history that was instituted in order to keep certain people in perpetual s***ery. It is an insult to all black people.

Industrial Worker: Before the rise of unions, everyone had to work 10 to 16 hours a day, six days a week for wages so low that their four year old children had to work for even less in coal mines. Industrialists had to offer no insurance, or retirement, or paid vacations. If their poorly designed machines k**led or maimed a worker, they were not liable. Unions are the only institution that has any chance to represent worker needs against the oppressive power of money.

MacDonald's Worker: It is not possible to pay for college on the wages left after the right wing has exported millions of jobs to the third world. One cannot even pay for bare necessities on Walmartized wages.

RichieC: Why are all of you persecuting me?
