I have often recommended Zoner Photo Studio to UHH members, there is now a new version: Zone Photo Studio "X"
This new version is free to download for 30 days after which you will need to "Subscribe" for just under $100 per year, although if you are a current user you will get a 50% discount for the next two years.
This new version will have to be vastly improved for me to even consider subscribing, what do other ZPS users think about this subscription route.

I thought this renting thing went out with being able to buy your own phones. I simply will not do it. I currently have 13 phones in my house can you imagine leasing 13 phones a year, I can't. Looks to me like they are trying to revert back to an old has been.

I have and use PSE 14 which is bought and paid for. No annual or monthly subscription fee to pay so I think I will pass on Zoner. But thanks for the information.

I have ZPS18 and like it a lot. I'd have to check to see what "improvements have been made and hope they offer a purchased version. If Zoner X is what they are going to now they can forget me "renting" their software.......it ain't gonna happen. I'm contacting them today to register my complaint about this. I guess they are following the Adobe model.

Hi Larry, like you I have been using ZPS for years and ZPS18 is an excellent edition and I like it very much.
I have tried ZPS X for short while this morning and there seems to be hardly any difference, they have added a "dehaze" slider.
There is an extra tap in the browser named "Create" this different to the create in the menu, it lets you create a photobook, Calender, canvas print, collage, print or video if that's your thing. One other final thing is that the quick edits has been shrunk down so you cannot see all the sliders at once.
So currently I will stick with 18 and not subscribe.

Hi John,
Hmmmmmm....well except for the de-haze slider I'm not interested in the little do dads that they might call improvements. I do hope they come to their senses and update ZPS18 with the slider. I have registered my displeasure with X. I'm not even going to try the free version.

I tried Zoner once and decided not to get it; now it pops up every other day in e mails and on certain web sites. It just won't go away.
