how do i get rid of LR's 'new features' box that's hanging up LR's loading?

every time i load LR now, since the recent update, i get the 'what's new' list that hangs there until i click on one of the 2 choice buttons. there seems to be no way to get it to stop appearing with every LR load. (and i though i had disabled the splash screen, but that's once again part of the load process, too.) clicking on either button only removes the box for that session. the next time it's right back again!

Can you take a snap shot of the screen your seeing? I'm not getting anything other than the normal splash screen and sometimes Sync screen for mobile. Check Preferences regarding the splash screen, updates may turn it back on. The other may be something in the Adobe Creative Cloud App...open ACC> Preferences and try unchecking Show Notifications, see if that does it.

i unchecked app notifications, in general, no luck. then i unchecked os notifications. still no luck. i thought maybe the preference change wasn't taking hold because i start LR from a short cut, so i started it from the cc app. the box still pops up. haven't tried rebooting yet. i am supposed to be working my way through the final sets of nearly 800 images i took in the past week. i'll reboot when i take a break. but if you have any other suggestions, please let me know! the loading process is taking a really long time (and i'm not doing the whole 800 in one load, but by day.)

thanks!

"since the recent update"-Do you mean OS update or Lightroom update? Mac or Windows? The upgrade to Mac Siera or Windows 10 does cause problems with earlier versions of LR like 5.7.

i have CC & win 10. win 10 is going through a series of updates, the last was yesterday. adobe did an update recently, which is when i first encountered the annoying popup box.
Lightroom version: CC 2015.7 [ 1090788 ]
License: Creative Cloud
Operating system: Windows 10
Version: 10.0
Application architecture: x64
System architecture: x64
---------
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3194496)
installed 10/1/2016

thanks for helping me with this!

i have now gotten rid (again) of the splash screen, but the new features box is still popping up on load.

Sorry but I haven't seen this one, perhaps cause I'm sticking with Win 7 Pro OS...you having Windows 10 which seems to be the only dif between you and I. It maybe an option only available to Win 10 OS machines... but seeing that no one else with Win 10 seems to have the popup or no one chiming in, makes me suspect. If I find anything else of help, I'll get back to you.

I clicked on "ok got it", closed out the program and reopened it. Everything was fine. the popup didn't come back. Can't imagine why yours wouldn't go away too. I'm running Windows 10 on a new Dell XPS-15.

Give them a try. I've used the online chat when I had trouble and they helped me out without any problem...now that I think about it I was having trouble with slow brushes using my Wacom tablet and it may have been the tablet chat line I was using. Either way, give them a call. They should be able to help. Or maybe just get rid of it and reinstall. That usually fixes a lot of problems.

once i've gotten microsquish to fix my non-functional dll issue, then i'll tackle this one.
