hi mt shooter do you think that nikon well drop the price of the 200-500 any time soon? i am wanting one thanks garry

I seriously doubt it, they are in very high demand and stocks are regularly depleted causing delivery delays. I still have 3 back-ordered with Nikon right now.

I posted some shots in photo gallery yesterday that I shot with the 5D Mark4 and the new Tamron G2 but now they are not there. I checked watched topics and it was there but now it is not. This is not the first time this has happened.
Anyway, the lens is an improvement over the first one as far as quality build but as far as image quality it was late when I took the first shots and not very good light but they still looked pretty good.
Hope you don't mind me attaching one in this reply. I will try again to put some more shots on here later in photo gallery when I get a chance to get some better shots. Thanks for the post MT.

A couple of the new G2 Tamron taken with the 7D MK II body. Approximately the same scene in the same weather conditions as the shots with the 5D MK IV taken yesterday. All handheld with VC on, wide open. Exif data intact in the downloads.

Thank you mt shooter for posting these pics with the 7d2. I have the 16/35 2.8 24/70 2.8 and ver1 of 100/400. this year I got hooked on birding and into NASCAR which I have taken the 100/400 and always looked for more reach. Im looking to purchase the 1.4 extender but now thinking of purchasing the 150/600 based on reviews coming. Just wondering do I loose any functions with this lens and the 7d2 since I'm a stickler with staying with OEM lenses thanks bill

The new Tamron 150-600mm G2 model offers matched teleconverters. On 5D III, 5D IV, and 7D II Autofocus still works using the 1.4X Tamron TC. With the 2X you will still have autofocus on the 7D II and the 5D IV, but having tried it I found that the lens still wanted to search with the 2X, although it did nail focus after a second or two, but it would never work for action shots.

Here is what I got with the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary on a Canon 80D. Shot at 1/250, f/8-f/11, ISO 800 - 2000. Metadata attached. Better upon download.

Thanks for the info, MT. I have the original Tamron Lens that I use on the Nikon D7100 and very satisfied with it, but always interested in what's new! I purchased a Nest gimbal head from you several years ago and love it, and planning on purchasing a better tripod from you in the future. Take care!
