Unable to find info on this lens. Can anyone enlighten me as to it's value, quality, etc. And who is "Luxcon?" Thanks much.

With only a 2-minute look at Google, I found the name Luxcon in conjunction with a Canon 35mm camera in Edmonton, Canada. How hard is that? Google is your friend.

It appears from looking around that the lens was made by a third party company and sold to other lens companies such as Soligor, Quantaray, Vivitar, Access, Promaster, etc. You can find the Soligor and a few other versions on eBay for around $30. Some listings say that it was made in the 70's and was thought to be of the quality Canon 'L' glass is considered to be today. It came in weird lens mounts Pentax, Minolta, Yashica, Konica. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2054436.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS5&_nkw=35-200mm+3.8-5.3+macro+lens&_sacat=0

It's junk. I wouldn't use it if somebody gave it to me. f I had a body it would fit on which I don't.

Without knowing anything about it, I personally would NOT put ANY of those companies even in the same paragraph as ANY L glass!!!
Not to mention it's a pretty slow variable aperture lens!
Plus the 7:1 ratio is NOT the stuff of hallmark lenses!

Sounds like a good doorstop to me (I have acquired several, of different makes, over the years whilst pursuing my dream of a good macro lens - I gave up in the end and invested in modern stuff). http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-luxcon-auto-zoom-lens-35-200-415004732

The words "weird and "Pentax" should NOT appear in the same sentence! Just saying...

"MC" on this lens could be made with an older Minolta mount called MC. Minolta moved to the MD mount then to AF.

They wouldn't get my $20 a month. I think this is a "vintage" site, so he throws in all those brand names so someone doing a search will wind up there. Notice his spelling of Miranda.
