fellow fastone image viewer users I need some help in selecting multiple images from the fastone thumbnail of images. Supposedly its much like selecting mult files in wondows 7 where you hightlite first image and if you want contiguous images hit shift on the last one and all will be selected. But on my fastone I can only select one image at a time. Hitting control -A is suppose to select all images in folder, but this does not function. Is there some setting that I need to adjust to functionalize fastone for multiple selection..Yes, I can select multiple images in the list view, but not thumbnail view. Very frustrated. Maybe I need to reinstall fastone? fastone support is poor as it is a free program and the vendors replies are nil. Advice??? Thanks for your help!!
try holding shift down while you make the selections
thanks for your input, but I fiddled around in the settings under skins and I selected windows classic and the selection feature now works. Also under the setting windows xp it works, but I had it set for windows vista, windows 7,and 8 and it did not work. Go figure??? Its a program I use for resizing and some editing. But I do the majority of my editing on lightroom 5.7 which works well for me. Have a Good One!!
I use it some and I have only been able to select one image at a time.
I use FastStone all of the time and Windows 10. I do not have any issues with image selection, I use the control key to select random files, and the shift key of Ctrl A to select all files. It must be something in you settings. Go to settings, and perhaps reset to default and see if all normal functions have been restored. Gary

gary thanks for your input as I corrected the multiple image selection by changing the skin setting under tools. I also downloaded a newer version of fastone 5.9 which automatically set the skin by default and gives no alternate selections. yes to all ,I had looked at the manual for the answer to my initial ? under the appendix for selecting images as in windows, but the usual hightlite and shift was not working for me as I had to tweak the skin settings to correct the image selection.(not answered in the manual) Thus the manual was useless for me here. Have a Good One!

You mentioned Fast Stone with W7. It works just like Windows explore. Simply start at one file, click left and hold while you slide your mouse over all the files you want to select.
As I mentioned in my replies to my ? I solved the problem of selecting multiple images. In my fastone version I had to change a skin setting to correct this situation as it would not work on the skin setting for windows vista,7 or windows 8. Thanks for all your input!!

Spend more time here and you will see the pattern. "MOST" members only read the initial post. As illogical as that sounds, it is unfortunately the norm.
Glad to hear that you were able to fix your issue.
You"re right here!! Thanks for the tip!!

I use the FastStone Image Viewer and it works normal for me . When I use "Ctrl + A" everything is selected, if I click on the first image then "Shift Click" on the las, it selects all photos in between them, and I can add additional photos to a selection by "Ctrl + click" on any others one at a time. If you are having problems maybe you should try downloading a new copy and installing it to see if it will correct the problem.
if you would look at the prior posts the problem has been solved.Thank You anyway for your suggestion!!
