I have gotten calls telling me that someone has important documents that need my immediate attention. If I don't return there call in 24 hours my employer and finachel institution will be notified. The local law enforcement will also be notified and I could be arrested at my home. They then give a case number and repeate the phone number. What ever happened to the calls is your refegator running

And, some of these "phishing" emails include an attached ZIP file. If you download and open the file, you will install malware on your computer.

My virus checker indicates that nearly every one of these I receive has viruses attached. I have even gotten some from friends and associates who have been victimized. I delete anything suspicious. If it is something unusual, supposedly from someone I know I delete anyway, and let them know -- if it is real, they can re send. So far, so good

I received one this week supposedly from Capital One informing me that my account had been suspended and providing a link to reactivate it. Stupid phish as I don't have a Capital One account 😀. Forwarded it to Capital One fraud prevention and NC DOJ.
