I see that Microsoft have decided to mess about with their Outlook Email, it has been totally ruined, why did they think it necessary to change what a perfectly good application.
My primary email account is Outlook so I am stuck with it, what I will do though is to get my emails diverted to my Gmail address !!

Yes, that works very well. I get my Road Runner email at Gmail.

What changes are you referring to??? To me, Outlook is a service I access using my browser, not an application.

They probably changed it to keep it more in line with Windows 10. Micro$oft has long range plans in store, mostly how to continue to make gobs and gobs of profit. I do notice a lot more ads now with my Outlook Mail (email).

Actually I prefer the Outlook app in Office, I am using 2007 (I retired that year, don't need a newer one.), they ended support for 2003 so I guess I can't be far behind. Will have to get a newer version of Office or some other e-mail program. I just like(am used to) it. I have tried G-mail and the Outlook in windows and just don't like them. I have been using one version or another of Office Outlook since the 90s.

Earlier this week for two days Office Outlook would not access my hotmail account, tried everything, then it suddenly started working again. I suspect it was an update, then fixed by another update.

I agree, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! But a. it may not work with the other new stuff they put out, b. no sales if everyone is content with what they have and c. the code writers get depressed and unemployed if no one needs/wants new stuff. Another one about all those sub apps, add ons and things no one uses much, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. IE Improve the program/app without totally changing its look and layout just because you think it is pretty/clever. Most people want their programs to work and not to have to relearn them all over every year or two. It is one reason why there are programs to make Win 8,8.1 and 10 look and act like Win 7 or even XP. Plus there are older programs people still want to use that won't work with the newer stuff and older computers that still run fine that can't use the new stuff. I have a religious reference program with a couple hundred books in it that was made for Win 95, worked with 98 & 98 2nd Ed and even XP. Haven't been able to use it since and the guy who wrote it has passed on and no one seems to have taken over. I have an old laptop that will run it but that thing is 15+ years old and will die any day now.

Back when I was a "working stiff" (*), I and another male colleague accessed our company email {provided by Google} using Internet Explorer, while our female colleague used a mail app {I'm not sure which one}. We could get to Google Docs, but she couldn't; it turned out that you had to be logged onto Gmail via the browser into order to get to Google Docs via the browser.

(*) I had planned to work until I was 70; in fact, when I got my last job, I promised my new employer that I would try to give him ten years, which would have made me 73 when I retired. However, when I was 65, my wife got "a job she couldn't refuse" which brought us back to Indiana, but it turns out that software development jobs are largely unavailable to someone my age, so I retired a tad earlier than I had planned
