Help with 50 year old B/W photos

This is the only Photo my wife and I have of a baby girl that we lost a few days after her birth over 50 years ago. It was a Polaroid photo taken through several glass panes.
I have tried to restore it as much as I can, and I was able to improve it somewhat but am hoping someone can do a better job than I am able to do. I know there are many people that are better at this than I am

The picture you posted is a very low resolution scan. It would be hard to make it much better. Can you possibly scan it at a higher resolution and re-post it?

Sorry for your loss and fifty years of grieving.

Perhaps this is some improvement. I know the memories you must be experiencing.

Sorry for your loss. You'll have to scan with more resolution if you want a significant improvement. This is about as good as I can manage with the posted file.

Ron,

Not sure this is any better than other's attempts, but is a little between the darkest and the lightest. Sorry for your 50 years of loss. My wife had a miscarriage on our first - not the same, I know, but it was a sad time just the same.

Best Regards,
Tom

I'm sorry but I had to retrieve my old albums from my Daughters house, she wanted to look at them.

Hi, Ron. The re-posted image is much the same size as the first one. Are you using an A4 flatbed scanner? If this image is really important to you it might be worth getting it scanned professionally. That should generate a bigger file to work on.
