Took this photo while taking our boat down to where falls empty into Lake Keowee. It was early in the morning before the sun came up to eliminate any direct sun on the falls. Enroute, I noticed the sun was behind the horizon clouds and starting to show signs of an interesting red/ yellow sunrise. I diverted to a nearby island, setup my tripod, and captured this shot. The Rays lasted maybe 30 seconds so shot as many images as I could!

Very nice! You must be a quick tie-up to have done all those things and STILL captured the image. Impressive!

Beautiful photo, and I like the composition: the juxtaposition of the stumps pointing up at the sun's rays pointing down.

It is an aluminum pontoon boat so just beached it at the sandy shore, jumped off and setup as quickly as I could. I took a few shots in landscape mode and was changing to portrait mode when the rays appeared. This one is a merger of 5 exposures using LR HDR merge.

Breathtaking! The water reflections and foreground add a lot to this already engaging scene.
