this image is what I like and dislike about photography. I could not capture what I wanted. Likely doesn't have a subject. Likely bad choice in composition too. I liked the mood, I liked the muted colors. I am challenged in fog and I am challenged in woods.

Please take this borderline image (but an image that means much to me) and teach me about it.

OK, you have 10x as many posts as I do, so I'm not going to claim to be doing any teaching! Also, not knowing what about the image is very meaningful to you, I feel ill at ease cropping. Nonetheless, let's start the discussion. It's simply another perspective--I took away the bank, which to me was less interesting, concentrated on the fog and the reflections, added a bit of a vignette, and warmed it up.

Was it muted or mutated? :) You've given it a kind of hopeful, light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel spin, Linda. I like it!

I did a little of what you guys did and glubbed it up with textures too. I have mixed feelings about the results, but here is my stab at it.

Doubt I'm teaching you much about it.

mine was dark and gloomy for sure. Yours has a feeling of light and brightness that is most appropriate for fog.

Attempted to emphasize the debris.

I did the opposite regarding the log in the water - but for me, it kept looking like it wasn't grounded in the water for some reason. I like how your version shows us what is under the water as well as the reflections. I think by doing your emphasis, you gave us a subject that fits within the foggy creek. Nice job!

Edit - and I'm glad you kept the green murkiness of the depths.

I think I over muted the colors
I attempted to increase the fog effect by using clarity and haze filters in the "wrong" direction.
Like you I feel there is an image in there some but I'm not sure I found it.
