Playing with the band. At the end, they awarded her a certificate of participation. Don't think she quite understood the significance of that.
Maybe they took a straw vote?
Your juxtaposition of the musicians--the seasoned men vs. the little girls-- makes this photo work much better than the men alone, which in itself would also have been a nice street photo.

That's okay, I don't understand either!
What about the other two? They also have tambourines, but I can't tell from the picture if they got into the act at all. Also, what is the other person off to the side of the girls doing? Looks like something in the hand but I can't tell what. Is it another player?
I like the scowl on the face of the fellow with the black hat. He is probably just being serious about what his music is, but it looks for all the world like he wishes that noisy kid would get lost... :-)
Wonderful photo...luv the b/w....thanks for sharing!!

show quote)
I arrived after the tune started so didn't see the beginning. The two girls to the left had tambourines, but weren't moving them. Only the little girl was shaking along. Afterward, the guy in the black hat made this big production about giving her a certificate, and how some day she would appreciate it. She just looked confused. Oh, and the hand does belong to another band member. Guess that's just small-town Americana (Bandera population 861).

Cool how the kids are interacting with the musician and you are able to capture the whole scene without anyone really noticing you are there. I like the black and white.
