Canon Pro-100 "Out of Ink" When Cartridge is Half Full

I've had my Canon Pro-100 for a few years. It now will tell me that a cartridge is low and then empty. Visual inspection shows the tank is still half full of ink.

Other than replacing the cartridge, is there a way to "reset" the problem tank?

Thanks.

What brand of ink cartridge are you using?

They do look half full when they register as empty. I think they're either designed to only use 1/2 of the ink or they just look that way. Annoying, isn't it.

Always Canon straight from B&H.

Yours too! Normally I continue printing when I get the "Low" warning. Then I change it when I get the "Empty" warning. Usually the liquid half of the tank is empty and the cotton filled part still has a little ink. This time, "Empty" had the liquid part half full.

I'll call Canon about my other question and ask this one too. It will be a few days as I'm off on a photo shooting trip.

You could try a chip resetter that the people who refill their tanks use. Just google " canon pro 100 chip resetter".
