Sheer speculation on your part or do you have facts to back up your assertion ? Many of those at Guantanamo were captured on the battlefield in case you were not aware of that fact...

Nagy: The battlefield, huh? In other words, so long as the US actually invaded a country, instead of droning people to death, or controlling it via puppet ruler, anything we did to the people was legitimate, and nothing they did was. They had no right to fight back, nor to take up arms against the US anywhere after being released. Screaming Maniac will say something sensible yet, but not anytime soon.

Begets the fact that they shouldn't have been released in the first place. I guess you feel it is OK for people in other countries to commit wh**ever atrocities they want, against whomever they want and we should stand by & do nothing ? Are you a believer in isolationism ? Seems that way. Plus the OP made a speculative claim that had no basis in fact. Wether or not our involvement was justified, it still remains that most of the detainees were captured on the battlefield. Thus your attempt to change the narrative is weak & out of place. If you desire to belittle our country's actions, do it in another post as to do so here is simply hijacking the original thread.

Reminds me of the scorpion and the frog.

A scorpion asks a frog to carry it across a river. The frog hesitates, afraid of being stung, but the scorpion argues that if it did so, they would both drown. Bush started out with a price on the head of anyone charged by others--I think it was $5,000 payable to anyone who asserted someone else--business competitor, enemy, or random for-profit accusation.
