Yesterday I had the privilege of photographing a French Medal of Honor recipient from the Battle of Normandy. This is only one of his medals received during WWII.
Very few of the WW II vets left and now even those of us from Vietnam are starting to become less common.
I agree. I was a combat photographer in Vietnam 67-68. My best friend just passed away July 5 of agent orange. I'm also a disabled vet.
Terrific shot, invokes a myriad of memories.
Very well done, great lighting.

Oh! Beautiful image of a true hero of a quickly passing generation of heroes.

I wonder if he would take a knee at a football game? Great shot of a real hero.
Beautiful shot. The emotion as he is holding the medal is a story in itself. One can only guess what he was really thinking. He has the look of thankfulness for receiving it, as well as the pain he has gone through.
