I have a Pro 100 I purchased from Canon a few months ago. I originally set it up for Wi-Fi but now I want to use a USB cable for it. How would I disable the Wi-Fi? Will I have to uninstall the printer and reinstall it? Thanks.

I don't remember exactly how it was done but it was a rather easy, painless procedure. Had to be if I was able to do it.

I actually have mine installed as both wi-fi and cabled. When I plug in the cable, it works through the cable. One installation is called (1) and the other (2) on my printer list. You just have to remember which is cable and which is wi-fi when you choose your printer.

Thanks for the information. Is your printer faster (start-up and print) with the cable than it is with Wi-Fi? That is my main concern. If they are about the same then I probably won't bother changing it.
I did try using a USB cable to it but I didn't know if it was working on the cable or the Wi-Fi.

If you have it installed both ways, it will depend on which one you choose to use. I don't notice much difference. I think that might depend on the strength of your wireless router.

I just want to move it away from printer in the same room but when I disconnect the USB cable I lose the connection even though I pressed the wifi button.

You need to run the install again but this time do it as wireless (it's a choice at the beginning of the install). Be sure you connect the printer to your network. After the new install you will actually have two versions of the printer program installed and you can select the cable version or the wireless one to use. You just need to remember which is which.
Would it be easier to simply use an extension usb cable? I got one for mine because it's across the room from one of the computers.

There should be no time difference between Wi-Fi and USB start-up. The time delay is so the printerhead ink nozzles are properly heated, which is why Canons rarely have nozzle jams.

Sorry for being so late to the party but I just looked in this section for the first time and have been reading all the posts. I thought that I would comment on the print speed issues with this printer. I originally had mine set up wireless, printing a full large sheet took forever to print not to mention also slowing down other parts of my system. I decided to add the printer as a network printer connected to a switch by ethernet cable. This keeps the printer available to any of our computers networked in the house and the speed increase in printing was huge. I would never again run this printer (or any other large format printer) wireless, way too slow.
I know that running wire is always a pain but I think it is a must for for these printers.
