I am using Photoshop Elements 12 with Windows 8.
I have noticed that I get one of two messages after editing my Raw files
and saving them as Jpeg.
They are either " Damaged File" or "Fractured File"
Anyone have any idea as to what is going on with the Raw file?

Please be clear about this. Is the raw or jpg giving that message? What do you do to get the message? Something is not right here. If necessary, resave and reedit the raw. Hopefully, you have not deleted it from the card. I use three cards and rotate them after filled up. I do not delete or reformat until I use the card again. Cheap insurance.
Greetings, Thank you for your response! It is the RAW file that is giving me the message. When I go back to the Album file that has the raw image, I see a gray rectangle
with a mountain image outline with a broken line across the middle of it. I keep the raw file on my camera card as well.

That icon probably means that the file is either anreadable format or corrupt. If other raws display, then it is corrupt. Just copy it back over from the chip. Do not import; the catalog already has it. However, make sure to change IMG to _MG if necessary.

I'm wondering if your hard drive has a problem or if it is nearing capacity.
Thank you, I'll check that out!

I don't know if this will help, because I'm not clear on your above...
When I take a RAW file from the card into Photoshop's RAW tool, when I'm finished and save it to another drive, when I try to view the file from my camera...on the rear LCD...I get a gray box and words to the effect that it can't be read. It's not gone...not ruined; I can see it in Bridge or Lightroom. I've figured...after experiencing this many times...that, since the file has been changed, it doesn't show when I try to view on the camera, but is still good. I save my cards with my photo files when full...it's part of my backup process...I get new cards to replace those that are full. I then have my originals on the SD card and on three external hard drives (lotsa backups).
I hope I've made sense. And hope I've helped.

Are you using a new camera? When I bought a d7100 I had to purchase a newer pse and I upgraded Lightroom. Also I was unable to download my pics to photoshop 5. Good luck I hope you can figure out what's going on.
