A lot of emotion in this one, Frank. Great impact for me.

I love the barely-there background folks. For me, removing the bird and the small dark line on sand that touches left side of frame would simplify the background in a positive way. Otherwise, I find the composition and processing just wonderful!

Thank you very much Linda and I understand your concerns.

How could one not like this photo, Frank! I'll bet you could arrange a bunch of your portraits in a set or on the wall that would be a wonderful collection of very touching photos.

The dark water I was using as a crop mark, forgot about it and has since been removed...the bird I'm thinking about, maybe just a touch lighter as I just like it for some reason, adds to the feel or sense of place I think. Thank you for commenting Piet.

I like it, and dreamy is a good description for the mood and processing as well. The details seem fine, the separation from background is good, the profile a fine choice.

Here's my question: it seems like an ideal shot to do a sort of dreamy, semi-high key black and white, so I'm wondering what made you decide on color? Is there a second version?

I wouldn't normally do this minniev but since you asked....I am still struggling with this one and about ready to start over from scratch, I'm not even sure which way I want to go so any pointers you or anyone else has, I'm all ears.

I like this version. I think you might need to subdue the background figures some more. But I favor the monochrome. Silver toning? Could go further with that? A little more soft focus in Silver Effects? just possibilities, not necessarily improvements or claiming anything is wrong with this version, just ideas to experiment with.

Good one, keep it in monochrome by my way of thinking.

I'll keep those suggestions in mind. You know I am partial to b/w. I can't put my finger on what's bugging me about this one but will keep working on it. I think it is just the treatment of her I'm not happy with yet....the rest will fall in place after that.
