Wanted to share - scanning negatives

I know nothing about film (I started right out with a DSLR), but I thought this might be interesting to some of you that might want to try it. It's a tutorial on how to scan your negatives with a DSLR and turn them into a decent image. I can't comment on how good this will or will not work, but it looks like it worked pretty good for the author.... may be nothing, but just in case it's worth something to someone...

[quote=achammar] Thanks achammar. I would like to try this, but I'm not that good at building things. It looks like you put a bunch of work into it.

Not me...I didn't put any work into it...this is just an article that I found where someone else did. It looks like it will work good, but I have no experience with film. I just posted it for anyone who might want to try it or get some use out of it...

Cheers!

I bought an ION slide and film strip scanner on ebay for less than $50 it works great if any UHH member has either strips or slides send them to me and I will scan and return them. I just fully retired and can't play golf every day!

Thanks for the info, I have an old Pentax slide copier buried in the closet somewhere. Think I'll see if I can rig something up. Lots of slides and negatives from back in the day, way back in the day, 1950's.

My HP Scanner works on Windows 95 but not on newer OS. And HP does not have an update. I loved my scanner and may try to find a computer with Windows 95 to save it. David in Florida.
