I have been printing on Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster with no problem. In the past, I have also used Hot Press Natural and others, with no problem. Now, I want to print again on Hot Press Natural. However, in printer settings, when I go to MEDIA TYPE, and click the drop down menu and select FINE ART, all of the all of the selections including Hot Press Natural are greyed out. I changed the ink from photo to matte. Probably another senior moment, but can anyone tell me what I have done wrong, or forgot to do? Help is appreciated. Thanks.
Steve
I resolved this problem. I didn't realize that when selecting paper size, I was not selecting the rear feeder, which is necessary for fine art paper.
However, I have another issue. When printing on both Cold Press Bright and cold Press Natural, the black areas, such as the eye pupils, and shadows on clothing, mouth, etc. are coming out blue and red. Any ideas?

Make sure your monitor is calibrated AND that you are using the correct ICC profile for the paper selected. Also, make sure you are not doing the color corrections twice - once in the software and again in the printer. This last item causes all sorts of problems.

This is what I also suspect is the problem.

Thanks. But...monitor is calibrated, ICC profile is correct, and color management is turned off so it is controlled by computer not printer. This happened when I changed from photo ink to matte ink. Maybe an ink problem?

Wish I could solve it for you, but there are just too many variables. The 3880 is an older machine, but a good one. Do you have the latest driver? Did you do a head cleaning? And on and on...

Thanks for giving it so much thought. Everything worked fine with luster paper and photo ink. I'll give that another try. If it prints okay again, must be something with the matte ink.
Did you tell the printer that you've changed to matte ink? That's my WAG. Good luck. And post the fix when you have it?
I have resolved the issue of the dark areas printing in blue and red, with help of Epson support. Very easy solution. Printed sample test page which indicated gaps where there should be none.
Then ran "clean print head" three times. Gaps disappeared and printer prints beautifully on Fine Art Paper. Thanks for your suggestions.
