Wow. That is a significant picture! It has universal appeal, it's pretty, it's well composed, and technically well done.

A young child with a cell phone will push some buttons here on UHH. Seems there is a large bias against use of such technology, in particular by anyone younger than Methuselah. Most people my age can remember seeing at least one horse drawn plow, and reject everything invented since, including histograms, blinking highlight displays, and any light meter that doesn't hang on a string around your neck. (Others are ecstatic, because children now enjoy learning even more!)

I wish you had clicked on the "Save Original" button. I'd like to see it in a larger size and also to see the full Exif data.

Very good. I like the low-contrast coloring. Also like the sun shining behind and over her back.

Apaflo, many thanks for your feedback, I have so much to learn about posting. Can you tell me about "save Original" and I'll try it.

Thank you, Voss, I don't know if you got my last response because I am confused about "responding", but I greatly admire your work and was wondering if you had thought about making a book of your images.
As a result of your encouragement I have started to carry my camera everywhere, but without any preconceptions. I think of myself as an indiscriminate, opportunistic, stealth photographer : )

Natalie, thanks for the compliment re a book, but, no, that will have to wait.

I like your attitude, and would make a few suggestions. When you're hunting subjects, hold your camera ready (chest high, with one finger on the shutter release), walk slowly, and keep your head moving around (looking for subjects). I look forward to your next posts. (If you have any particular questions, feel free to Private Mail them to me. See Private Messages at the top of the page.)
