Schoodic Point, High Tide and "Front Row Dave"

Late morning here on the mainland part of Acadia National Park and the tide is getting high. A highlight of this session was meeting the character in the last shot. He introduced himself as "Front Row Dave," so called because his specialty is concert photography. He's from New York and had never seen anything like this - beside himself with excitement. A fun guy to talk to. You can look him up on Facebook and see some of his shots and a short video

Fantastic photos, Dennis! You captured not only the power of the ocean at that spot, but the pink granite also. How cool about your meeting.

Thanks, Linda. According to the local news there was a storm somewhere out on the ocean that gave the surf a little extra "oomph."

Excellent images. All are great, but my favorite is the second. The rocks provide nice foreground interest, and I like those crashing waves.

Excellent set Dennis love the scene, hope Dave kept his camera dry! Will be in Acadia early October looking forward to the views.

Boy, do these bring back memories! I was stationed at Winter Harbor back in the 60's (Yup, the Navy had a base there). I never got tired of the scenes you captured. Great job!
