Post processing is the next step for me to learn. I would like to see what can be done with this old jpg, dslrd
and what software was used.

Setup: D100, Quantary 28-200 1:3.5-5.6 lens w/uv filter, AUTO mode.

This was my first dslr.

You need to post this in the post processing section (or ask the admin to do so)...

Also, if you want folks to help you with this do post an original, not us UHH thumbnail....

Timing on the shot was perfect
Recommend always shooting in RAW + JPG
You'd be able to bring the cannoneers easily out of the shadows by PP on the RAW data

Timing accomplished using continuous release
RAW + JPG not an option on the camera I was using

Hopefully you DO have a camera with that capability ?
If not - - Time for a GAS attack

Yes, I finally broke down and got me one of them new fangled things with more widgets than I know what to do with.
Loaded both slots, and set up RAW + JPG.

The object now is to find software that is simple enough for an old Luddite like me can pick up quickly without
too steep a learning curve.

You camera manufacturer will usually have free post processing software available that will allow you to manipulate the RAW image to bring out the detail from the shadows. I've found that usually little can be done if the image is overexposed - but lots can be done if underexposed. Then save as JPG (or TIFF if you need to preserve it all for more work later).

Made a couple of experimental shots today. Played around with Nikon Capture.
Not sure about it yet.
