I love strawberries! I would love to get the strawberry patch this year and get some up close shots. Next month, I hope!

LOL Yeah, I could see that be a problem! We live in an apartment so no yard... Would love to have a vegetable and flower garden.. and fruit.

I spent hours & hours weeding out Burmuda Grass from my mother's Heirloom strawberries (called "Big Joes") The grass won & we can't locate that kind of plant anywhere. :(

Mom used to make several layers of pie crusts, then she would take a pie crust shell and fill it with sweetened mashed strawberries and juice and then another pie crust shell and more juicy strawberries until she had abou 6-7 pie crust shells filled. Then she let it set until it absorbed some of the juice into the crusts and served with whipped cream. I like to make little tart size crusts and do individual strawberry shortcakes. Um, um good!!

Something was stealing my strawberries last year at the peak of ripeness and I couldn't figure out what it was. Finally put up a trail camera and photographed a big gray squirrel doing the damage.

Just realized this is you, Erv. I thought you were black with four legs. Just kidding. I'm still trying to learn my camera. Haven't got a good shot yet but i'm enjoying.
