Butterfly in Pacifica, CA

Pacifica is a beach community 20 MI outside San Francisco. Was scouting birds to no avail last month, but caught this butterfly instead. It looks similar to a Monarch, but it's a different species.

Thank you. I used manual focus (MF), manual exposure (ME), fixed ISO, and had IS turned on. I am finding this combination often works better (than AF and especially AE), even for certain action shots, like surfers and birds, (though not always). The 150-600 Tam has extremely sharp glass when used properly, despite claims to the contrary.
This shot was not too difficult since the butterfly posed for a while. I've been having good success with MF for surfers too, as long as I dial in a certain focus range initially. 30 years with 35mm and 2-1/4 film got me used to MF and ME, so I am comfortable with it. Much greater control and higher keeper rate.
